About CBD

What is CBD?

CBD stands for cannabidiol, which is one of the the more than 120 cannabinoids or chemical compounds, found in the hemp plant.  Unlike its cousin THC, it does not cause any of the “high” or psycho-active effects.  CBD is known for supporting the relief of anxiety, depression, epilepsy, insomnia, and a variety of many other physiological and cognitive functions.

How does CBD work?

CBD works by interacting with our bodies systems that the naturally occurring endocannabinoid regulates. Scientist believe that CBD encourages the body to produce more of its own endocannabinoids.  St. Lucille Premium CBD oil contains a diverse spectrum of phyto-cannabinoids and terpenes that are said to support the body’s endocannabinoids system in the relief of anxiety, chronic pain, depression, epilepsy, insomnia and a variety of other physiological and cognitive functions.

What is important when buying CBD?

When it comes to purchasing CBD, there are many factors that you should take into account.  There are many brand options of CBD on the market, but you need to be aware of what to look for in all your options.  Cheaper is not always better.

  1. Hemp Plant Source - where was the plant grown and what farming methods were used?  Plants coming from outside the US may contain heavy metals and other toxins from the soil.  St. Lucille uses a single farm in Colorado where all organic materials are used and we ensure that our products are free of PG/VG/Polysorbate or ANY synthetic emulsifiers Pesticide free/Heavy Metals Free/Solvents free Produced in ISO-9001:2015 certified facility.

  2. Extraction Method - there are multiple ways in which the CBD is extracted from the plant.  Two of the main extraction methods are Ethanol and CO2.  St. Lucille only uses CO2 to extract our products.  Though CO2 is a more expensive process than Ethanol, but produces a much cleaner end product.

  3. Amount of THC - The legal amount of THC allowed in a product on a federal level is less than 0.03%.  While many companies claim to be THC-Free, the actually do still contain up to the 0.03% of THC.  Which if you take enough of their products, it could still show on a drug test. St. Lucille contains 0.00% THC, so you do not have to worry!

  4. Batch Lab Reports - All batches that are produced should come with an independent testing reports. These reports should be readily available to you.  St. Lucille has an independent lab test every batch that we produce and all reports are available on our website.  Click here in order to find the batch report for your product.  You can find your batch number (lot #) on the bottom of your product’s box.
